After throwing a comeback pass from just inside the red zone to TE Rob Gronkowski near the five yard line, Brady watches as "Gronk" swoops around and muscles his way past Browns' defenders to get his first of two receiving touchdowns. Gronk was also instrumental in throwing a key block to spring open RB Shane Vereen for a 83-yard TD run, and the media presented him with the "Adrian Peterson" award after the game.
Brady commented after the game that they expected the Browns to make adjustments to be more formidable than when the teams' met in the AFC Divisional Playoffs last year (sliders were lowered by -2 for HUM, and CPU received +2 boost), so the Patriots made every effort to play exceptionally well, but added that he expects teams to continue to adjust and knows as the Super Bowl champs that they have a bullseye on their back (sliders will be lowered again by -2 for HUM and raised again by +2 for CPU).
Patriots lose their "Defensive Playmaker" in SS Patrick Chung, who was injured with a broken tibia, and will be out for the season and placed on IR. Replacing him will be a rotation of recently signed free agent SS Ken Hamlin, and upstart UDFA SS Brendan Collins, who surprised many during the preseason with his exceptional play, but it remains to be seen if his fire streak can continue.
