Notable statistical progressions (OVR):
TE Aaron Hernandez 91(+9)
RB Stevan Ridley 73(+6)
RB Shane Vereen 76(+7)
MLB Brandon Spikes 87(+8)
ROLB Jermaine Cunningham 82(+7)
CB Ras-I Dowling 81(+7)
QB Ryan Mallett 75(+6)
Coach JM's incorporation of tight ends in the passing game, a rotating, running back by committee approach to the ground game, and rotating linebackers and defensive backs on defense has helped all of the above-referenced players progress well. Also, his allowing rookie QB Ryan Mallett to play extensively during the preseason, during "garbage time" in blowouts, and for the full length of the 2011 Week 17 game has helped Ryan progress, although the activity has come with a price (backup QB Brian Hoyer has regressed).
