Sea. 2, PreseaWk. 1 - Team Captains & Beckum retirement/Jeremy Shockey Re-signing

In a somewhat surprising move, NY Giants GM "EP" held a press conference right after the first preseason game, in order to announce the team's Team Captains:

- WR Victor Cruz

- LE Justin Tuck; and

- RG Chris Snee

This marks Cruz's & Tuck's first turns as a Team Captain; Chris Snee returns for his second year as a TC. The Giants front office were quick to note, however, that TCs are subject to change upon the discretion of the head coach and general manager.

UPDATE as of Week 2: TCs are now WR Victor Cruz, RG Chris Snee, and DT Chris Canty.

In other news, after the unexpected and sudden/shocking/startling/abrupt retirement of #47 TE Travis Beckum from the Giants and professional football, NYG re-signed former controversial #80 TE Jeremy Shockey to fill the #2 TE spot behind starting TE Martellus Bennett. The move brings back the controversial, opinionated, and injury-prone TE to the Big Apple.
