2013 Week 10 - Patriots Defeat Browns, But Lose Vereen, Woodhead to injuries

This game wasn't as close as the score suggests (and the score was 48-35!), as the Patriots gave up all 35 points in the third and fourth quarters (having gone into the half up 31-0). The key issue for the Patriots are the losses of their No. 1 & No. 2 RBs, Shane Vereen and Danny Woodhead. In the third quarter, Vereen tore his left quadriceps, which will sideline him for 5 weeks. Woodhead, in the fourth quarter, suffered an abdominal tear that will sideline him for 4 weeks. The injuries could not have been at a worse time, as both RBs were having back-to-back breakout games in rushing yards per carry and touchdowns before suffering the injuries. Once-starting Stevan Ridley will be thrust back into the spotlight from the depths of the bench, and sources close to the team say that they are nearing a one-year deal with free agent RB Tashard Choice.
